3M Dual Lock
Often referred to as ‘industrial velcro’ the 3M Dual Lock system of reclosable fasteners make it easy to create a semi permanent and long lasting fastening between two surfaces.
The design of the Dual Lock system can be simply explained by saying that it consists of raised plastic ‘mushrooms’ that when pressed together interlock. The strength of that bond is determined by the number of raised mushrooms per inch, 170, 250 or 400. These can even be mixed to give varying levels of strength in between the grades.
So by adding a 400 side to another 400 side you get an almost permanent lock where as a 170 to 170 would give a far easier to separate join.
Each of the 3M Dual Lock products has a strong double sided tape on the reverse to allow you to bond the plastic part to nearly any surface.
